PLEASE HELP US CELEBRATE THE TENTH ANNIVERSARY OF OUR AUTHORS RESPOND TO ART PROGRAM:

For the first time since it was founded in 1928, the Authors Club of Augusta plans to publish an anthology of members’ works. We will be focusing on your work generated by the Authors Respond to Art programs that began TEN years ago next spring.
**IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN PAST AUTHORS RESPOND TO ART programs, please dig through your files. If you find work that you would like to have considered for the anthology, please email and/or snail mail to me up to TWO selections. Please make sure YOUR name is on each page and/or provide a cover sheet with YOUR name, contact info and names of poems.
**IF YOU DID NOT PARTICIPATE in previous programs, now’s the time to do so. We would love for as many of the club’s members to have the opportunity to be included in this first-ever, club anthology.
Just go to the museum and select a piece of art in the permanent collection — not in a temporary exhibit. Next, write a response to that art. This can take the shape of a poem, a short-short (flash) fiction, one-scene play, or a non-fiction essay. The only restrictions on your imagination are those in your comfort zone.
**We do have some length restrictions, however:
Poems: No more than thirty-six (36) lines, one poem per page
Short-short fiction: 3-4 double-spaced pages (1000 words)
One-scene play or one scene from a play; 3-4 double-spaced pages (1000 words)
Essay: 3-4 double-spaced pages (1000 words)
DEADLINE: FEBRUARY 15, 2009
Please help make this a successful project and send your work to: Lakehut@gmail.com or to:
